Madison--eflexgroup.com is pleased to announce the promotion of Rob Long to Vice President of Information Technology.
Long joined eflexgroup.com in December of 2002 as a Web Administrator--not an easy position considering the company vision is to "be the number one web-based cafeteria, HRA, HAS, and COBRA provider in the country." Since then, Long has taken on increasing responsibilities as a Network Engineer, Programmer, e-commerce Specialist, and Project Coordinator.
"We could not ask for someone who was as well-rounded in so many IT disciplines," said Ric Joyner, Co-founder and President of eflexgroup.com. "His family said he spent most of his time playing with and networking computers. One family friend even said, ‘playing with computers…the boy won’t amount to much!’" joked Joyner. "Through the use of technology, we have positioned our company to provide a much higher level of quality service at a below average cost. We couldn’t have achieved that with out Rob."
As Vice President of Information Technology, Long will be in charge of system maintenance, development, and integration. He will also oversee the network engineers, programmers, and web applications. Long will also be a part of the strategic planning team and is eligible for eflexgroup.com stock.
"It’s a big job," added Joyner. "We’re an e-business which means we have to be on the cutting edge of customer self service at all times to stay competitive and profitable. I’m confident that Rob is up to the challenge."
In addition to his hands-on experience in systems and technology, Long holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information from Herzing College in Madison.
"eflexgroup.com has given me the opportunity to fully explore and develop web-based applications that many other companies just aren’t ready to try," said Long. "And the company is growing virtually every day. I’m really looking forward to leading our IT development during this very exciting time."
Long currently resides in Evansville with his wife and two-year old son. Most of his free time is spent finishing the construction on his new house and preparing for the arrival of a new baby later this spring.
